B19 Media was set up by the producer, Lincia Daniel and writer Michael Maynard to tell fresh stories by collaborating with talent from the African diaspora and engaging the creativity of under-represented voices in order to broaden the range of narratives available to global audiences.

Filming in the UK and on location in America, Africa and mainland Europe, Lincia produced and directed documentaries and factual programmes for the BBC, Discovery, Channel 4 and IMG Media before moving into scripted. She produced the feature film FREESTYLE for BBC Film and Film London and went on to produce six shorts by African, British, Caribbean, Middle-Eastern and LGBTQ+ writer/directors. They include the BFI/Virgin Media Short, LONDON TOMORROW by Nimer Rashed, SWEETHEART by Jack Taylor Cox and ESCAPE by Michael Adeyeye. Lincia’s shorts have been selected for a range of festivals including Encounters, the London Short Film Festival, Norwich, Rhode Island and Aesthetica.

As part of her commitment to education in film and television, Lincia qualified as a teacher and created and managed a range of courses at The Production Guild – from bespoke training for independent producers to enabling locations and accounting trainees in Northern Ireland to begin and develop their careers.

Lincia’s HETV drama credits include departmental coordinator roles on BRAVE NEW WORLD (DISNEY) and BLACK NARCISSUS (BBC1) before working as the UK head of production on AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS (BBC, PBS, ZDF, RAI & FTV) starring David Tennant and MYSTIC (CBBC). Most recently as an executive producer, Lincia supported emerging women writers to develop their first returning drama series, and she secured development, distribution and co-production deals for returning high-end TV dramas. With a special interest in under-represented talent, Lincia collaborates with writers from all cultures and backgrounds to produce compelling and distinctive dramas and films powered by their imaginative stories.
